Ferm Living – new wallpapers

We love the new range of @fermLIVING wallpapers – their usual mix of happy geometrics and earthy colours never disappoints. Hope we get to use them soon in a project. You can shop them here now – we’re trying to resist!

Brights for a blank canvas.

We’re really looking forward to seeing these design boards implemented in the next few weeks. With the brief ‘to make sense of a lifetimes collection of furniture, accessories and artwork from across the globe’ and infuse a white space with our clients love of bold colours, the journey so far has been a fun one.

With playful wallpapers and striking fabrics in every room, we’re excited to see the finished results once the decorators have finished! Watch this space!

Farrow & Ball – Winchester

We’ve had a fun time curating soft furnishing fabrics to go in the Winchester Farrow and Ball store – they’re opening a new consultation area on the 2nd floor and we’ve been lucky enough to work with them and design the space.

The soft furnishings will be changing quarterly, and this season’s selection features yummy Casamance, Designers Guild and Dedar fabrics to complement one of their latest colours – St Giles Blue. We hope you’ll pop along to the showroom in mid September to see them in real life!

Shoes for furniture!

Loving these easy to change furniture legs from PRETTYPEGS – Shoe your furniture!

Following one of the major trends for this autumn, of pastel with blue and grey tones, brass and copper, these luscious furniture legs from Pretty Pegs are sure to smarten up your tired sofa, footstool or cabinet. We’ve ordered a set and can’t wait to try them out!

Custom furniture for WSA graphics show :)

The main challenge of the WSA BA Graphics degree show furniture was to make something that lived up to the amazing quality of the work it was displaying… oh, and the fact that it had to all disassemble without screws or bolts and fit in the back of a transit van for their London show.

We love the fact that we got to play with high quality birch plywood, and concentrate on the function and design rather than lots of finishes. Have a wander down to the college between now and the 22nd June to see the fantastic graduates work, and hopefully notice the furniture it’s on!

Thanks to Alex for his great photographs yet again, and thanks to Derek Yates the course leader for letting us be creative :)

KIN cafe open!

We’re delighted to have assisted (along with the in house team) with the design and layouts for KIN cafe in Fitzrovia, London. We loved being able to choose vintage chairs from Out of the Dark, and re-work them with grey wool fabrics to match the scheme. White washed oak flooring and clean lines suit the compact space, and allow the delicious food to make a real visual statement. The lovely photography is by French + The, and you can follow KIN on twitter here:

Historical display for New Forest Hotels

bartley lodge display

We had fun in the office last week re-creating the original mineral display boxes for the New Forest Hotels Bartley Lodge. The former childhood home of renowned geologist Charles Lyell, the hotel ground floor is home to copies of letters between Charles Darwin and Charles Lyell along with this informative mineral display box.

We utilised a new wallpaper ‘Galapagos’ from Sanderson, which features an ancient map of the Galapagos islands – a place visited by Darwin carrying a copy of Lyell’s book ‘The Principles of Geology’.

Visit and for more information, or find our more about Charles Lyell here.

Rebrand Unveiling!

It’s been a long time coming but the rebrand of our company material is now complete!

Hot off the press we now have new letterheads, project sheets, compliments slips, business cards & tags…

We selected a special Japanese watermarked paper for the letterheads and compliments slips, a lovely mint green shade for the project sheets and the business card material was sourced from recycled board providing a unique creative finish.

A mention to Marmalade On Toast for lending a hand with the design, GF Smith for supplying us with the paper and Blush Publishing for the letterpress and foil printing of the material.

Design week favourites – Chelsea Harbour

A visit to the Design Centre is always really inspiring, the chance to look at all the latest fabric collections under one roof. There are some fabulous new ranges from Sanderson – Voyage of Discovery. This will certainly be featuring in a hotel project we are currently working on.

With so much to choose from, here is a glimpse at some of our favourites – Etamines (Zimmer & Rohde) new range Optimiste  – a great embroidered spotty fabric in a range of contemporary, fresh colours. These teamed with a collection of our favourites from Turnell & Gigon (Meander, Pebble, Chain link, Betwixt and Ziggurat) provide the perfect palette for Spring.

Etre support Winchester charity event

We were proud supporters of the Winchester charity event ‘An Enchanted Evening’ this Saturday evening. The event was organised by Cat & Claire of Mad Hatters Present, and the event raised over £7000 for blood cancer research.

We’re happy to say we had the benefit of enjoying the evening as well as helping out with the room decorations – we delivered over 20 trees to the event – kindly on loan from Hilliers.
