We love the new range of @ wallpapers – their usual mix of happy geometrics and earthy colours never disappoints. Hope we get to use them soon in a project. You can shop them here now – we’re trying to resist!
We’ve had a fun time curating soft furnishing fabrics to go in the Winchester Farrow and Ball store – they’re opening a new consultation area on the 2nd floor and we’ve been lucky enough to work with them and design the space.
The soft furnishings will be changing quarterly, and this season’s selection features yummy Casamance, Designers Guild and Dedar fabrics to complement one of their latest colours – St Giles Blue. We hope you’ll pop along to the showroom in mid September to see them in real life!
The main challenge of the WSA BA Graphics degree show furniture was to make something that lived up to the amazing quality of the work it was displaying… oh, and the fact that it had to all disassemble without screws or bolts and fit in the back of a transit van for their London show.
We love the fact that we got to play with high quality birch plywood, and concentrate on the function and design rather than lots of finishes. Have a wander down to the college between now and the 22nd June to see the fantastic graduates work, and hopefully notice the furniture it’s on!
Thanks to Alex for his great photographs yet again, and thanks to Derek Yates the course leader for letting us be creative
We’re delighted to have assisted (along with the in house team) with the design and layouts for KIN cafe in Fitzrovia, London. We loved being able to choose vintage chairs from Out of the Dark, and re-work them with grey wool fabrics to match the scheme. White washed oak flooring and clean lines suit the compact space, and allow the delicious food to make a real visual statement. The lovely photography is by French + The, and you can follow KIN on twitter here: twitter.com/kin_cafe
A visit to the Design Centre is always really inspiring, the chance to look at all the latest fabric collections under one roof. There are some fabulous new ranges from Sanderson – Voyage of Discovery. This will certainly be featuring in a hotel project we are currently working on.
With so much to choose from, here is a glimpse at some of our favourites – Etamines (Zimmer & Rohde) new range Optimiste – a great embroidered spotty fabric in a range of contemporary, fresh colours. These teamed with a collection of our favourites from Turnell & Gigon (Meander, Pebble, Chain link, Betwixt and Ziggurat) provide the perfect palette for Spring.
We were proud supporters of the Winchester charity event ‘An Enchanted Evening’ this Saturday evening. The event was organised by Cat & Claire of Mad Hatters Present, and the event raised over £7000 for blood cancer research.
We’re happy to say we had the benefit of enjoying the evening as well as helping out with the room decorations – we delivered over 20 trees to the event – kindly on loan from Hilliers.
We’re delighted to be working with the team at Barton Lodge Care Home in New Milton on their 20 bedroom extension. We’ve been busy designing a bespoke curtain fabric for their bedrooms, and sourcing artwork and ideas for their corridors.
We thought we’d share these lovely Linwood wallpapers we’re using in the corridors to stimulate memories for the residents!
To kick start the new year we visited Out of the Dark to see the amazing work they’re doing in High Wycombe.
Out of the Dark is a charitable social enterprise that recycles, restores and revamps salvaged furniture as a means to train, educate and employ young people from disadvantaged backgrounds.
We absolutely loved visiting their workshop, meeting Jay and Jade and the team and checking out the fantastic work they’re doing. We’re going to make we use their services very soon… watch this space. We’ll be donating any remnant fabrics to them too so you can be sure the etre leftovers are going to a really great home.
The photo’s are from their latest creations which are shortly bound for a vintage cafe in Kuwait – amazing!
